actually - your empire does it during the tick, you develop ore, production, you have a credit deficit, and there is a sale of ore and/or production at a poor exchange rate (I think it's poor, it might be consistent with your current toag market discount) to give you the credits you need to spend on your asset obligations.

I've no idea what happens if you are not mining ore/making production and are in a credit deficit.  What happens then?  Do people have their ships being sold off?

Looking at Fearless's & Hakkar's trophy chest, the scale of 'heaviest fleet' awards range between 8 million tones and 37 million tonnes.  I guess some of the players in this galaxy have some way to go - what's Employee at now - 4 million?

Whats with the players minefielding themselves  thinking the mines will save them..

Actually whats happening is minefields just piss the victors off and in the next  galaxy the miner wont be invited anywhere due noobism..

And wire fence talking about hurting the enemy as much as he can is total Censored.

In this game only noobs use minefields..

The mechanics of minefields is implied when  the retreating alliance have any chanse of rebuilding. Thats what the minefields for.
When ur  fleet is crushed in 1 tick minefielding is absolutely pointless. Just delete and try ur luck again.

Taking advices from players that play space 1  year and make themselves gods in their minds is at least wrong.

If you guys want advices private message Bgzmea  in the forums or Hal.  Dont listen some randoms, which killed 1 fregate in some galaxy with minefields and thought it was great..

ps: Just for the record i didnt lose any ships to any minefields out there. nor my alies..

And minefielders, at least learn how to make them effisiently next time. You need huge level of stealth, and missile. Aparently u havent either of those atm.

lol sounds like some one got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Never said I was not a noob, but the last time I checked I am allowed to have an opion, and I am allowed to express it, just like every one else. They are inclinded to accept, use it or discard it. As a side note I have more respect for some one that fights to the bitter then some one that sees that they are loseing and just cuts and run, but hey this is a game, and people are allowed to play it as they see fit.

Everyone got opinion, but keep certain ones for urself.
Advising new players to mass minefield ,just gives them bad reputation for the future galaxies.
Nothing more.   Better teach them how to negotiate for peace or for mutual attacks.

However this galaxy has become grind fest.. With so less players in the galaxies everyone is playing carebear and every galaxy leads to 2-3 alianses left tops.

i think 4 man alliances are over.  There must be changes in the gameplay. Like 2 man or 3 man allianses only.

Good for you for shareing, but like I said before, I will give advice as I see fit, they can either use it or ignore it. Does not hurt my feelings either way. How ever I am sure to place what ever you think high on my list.

I have played a long time and just have to ask. Is there some book some where that lists the unwritten rules, The things that hurt your "reputation", The things that are cheating even though they are possible to do. I think part of what has happend to this game are all of the things you can't do or shouldn't do. This is after all a war game and all is fair in love and war. I think you should do anything you can to win the war and reach your goal.

that's a good question - I think MikeJan had a few tips on his website as to reputation.  But it's a 'thing' thing.  some folks leave what happens within the galaxy in the galaxy, some take it into the next galaxy.  Personally, I kinda think minefields & sheilds are reasonable if your 'fighting to your last breath' - if your doing that you are doing a whole lot of stuff - getting other alliances to attack your enemy (which is frowned on mostly - its called a gangbang) and sending slow pingers, leaping around taking their systems, trying stealth attacks, fleet bombardments to hurt econ etc.,  It's kinda pointless when your are being munched by someone really bigger than you - but it's kinda good form to know how a death goes, and when it's beyond the pale to do much more fighting ...

delete is there for a reason.

If you do delete, first convert your research to hull and build minefields.  Or convert to shields, and build Shields .  All systems gain technology impovements aross the board as you get them.

Hello Dave.

such interesting topics going on here. in no random order here goes some observations:

1. I have stopped an alliance cold with minefields many times, after getting my fleet totally wiped. The line between it being effective or not has little to do with whether you can rebuild afterwards or not, and more to do with the target options available to your attackers, and the psychological impact/yucky taste of mines.

2. If your credits cant cover your upkeep charges then the game does sell off prod and then ore to cover it. That rate is not that bad. You dont loose your ships, even if all your income wont cover your upkeep.

3. I can find it extremely frustrating myself when people wont listen to my good advice. Particularly when I play incognito and people don't know I am Hal. Playing on a known account lessens this somewhat Tongue but really in the end I cannot force them to play my way, and its just painful for us both if I keep trying. Even the players who are highly successful can be wrong sometimes (and even those with access to the code...). So these days I just stop saying anything and let them build their bad ships. Or I try to shut up, anyway.

4. I find that a more flexible leadership style also improves the likelihood of suggestions being followed. Some are just rubbed the wrong way by someone dictating how things will be.

5. IMO the best player space ever had was Mostly Harmless, also known as Voice of God and a few other names that slip my mind just now. Not just because he had awesome skills. There is a pool of people who were/are just as skilled as he was. But because he didnt have a towering ego to go along with it. I think we ALL, myself included, could benefit from listening when our experienced or not so experienced allies talk, and be willing to bend, so that the alliance doesnt break instead.
